Who do you think is the most important person within a team?
For most people, the first thing that may come to mind is the coach, the higher belts, the athletes with the most distinctions, etc.
Ας δούμε παρακάτω αν είναι όντως έτσι τα πράγματα.
Let’s see below if that is really the case.
What kind of sport is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu considered to be?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that is considered an individual sport.
At first glance, that is true. One athlete steps in to compete against another athlete to determine which of the two will prevail in the fight.

What lies behind the success of a fighter full of distinctions?
No matter how great an athlete is and no matter how many distinctions they have, behind that success there is an entire team of people.
A team of people who, every day, give their body and soul to training with them and helping them become better.
No athlete, no matter how elite they are in our sport, can train alone.

Even world champions have people by their side who train with them.
That is why, no matter how high you reach, always remember where you started.

You were a white belt who entered a team that embraced you and generously offered you, with patience and love, the knowledge of the art that you now possess.
Obviously, you have worked hard for this and you should be proud, but you could not have done it alone.
When you believe you have reached the top, remember to look a little below you and start giving your hand to others as well, so they can rise.
You must start giving back.
The greatest secret to your success is your contribution to the success of others.
Not to receive something… simply to show gratitude to those who supported you.
So remember that the most important person in your academy is not YOU.
It is your training partners and the people who opened the path to success for you.
GIVE WITHOUT REMEMBERING… RECEIVE WITHOUT FORGETTING
